Thank you. Today a
big brown truck came during the evening and dropped off a long
box at my door. I had much anticipation about the best
scratching post a savvy consumer could buy. So as you can
imagine, I quickly took the box to my room, busted out my
folding combat knife and sliced off the adhesive tape from box
flaps it adhered to. the box lids fly open to reveal a
promising product that works. Right away I grabbed the sisal
base model with both my hands and stood up as the box fell
away to the floor, a instruction slip floated downwards. Nero
my kitty was already interested from all the commotion. I
placed the product on the floor and sliced cellophane wrapping
away, I marveled at the quality and said to myself, this is
excellent craftsmanship. After the sisal post and the sisal
base was assembled, I read the well written instructions Nero
already grabbed. It was easy. Next, I tried using my toy laser
to entice my kitty to use the scratching post, and he
instantly used the post! I tried dropping a treat on the
recessed area on top of the post. Nero climbed up and got his
reward. Then I tried the small kitty twinkle toy which was
included. Just let me say, this toy instantly became his
favorite toy, as it seems, he carries it around the house and
plays with it. And this all happened that evening!

A
couple of months ago, I bought new Parsons dinning room chairs
with fabric covered legs. Trixie, my 5 year Siamese mix,
immediately thought they were for filing her claws.
After "no" and "bad kittie" didn't
persuade her otherwise, I started looking at scratching posts.
The ones is the stores are petty chinzy and usually don't
attract cats. So I googled 'scratching posts'
and sure enough your site came up. Trixie loves her
scratching post. My son laughed when he pulled it out of
the box and said, "She's never going to use this
thing!" As soon as he put it together she walked
right over, stretched up and dug her claws in. She rubs
all over it, lays on it, attacks it, bites - it's her new
best friend. The best $70 bucks I've spent on her.

have two cats, one is a large boy and I have a tiny girl.
The big guy has trouble with most posts falling over and has
taken to using the original wood trim in the brownstone. I

received my scratching post last night and I have to tell you
- It's amazing! My cat Murray has never been interested
in any of the posts I have brought home. last night
he wouldn't even let me pull it out of the box before he was
all over it! All night long he scratched, climbed and
bit at it. And when he did relax, he laid on the ground
and rubbed his little face against it! My new couch comes
Saturday and I am confident you have already saved it!

Thank you very much for this scratching post
-- I think it's saved my marriage and my cats! We have 4
cats who have destroyed several pieces of expensive furniture
in our house. I've tried a litany of scratching posts --
rope, carpeted, cardboard, horizontal, vertical -- you name it
-- but they just have had no interest. The furniture is
all that has interested them. My husband has been
furious and threatened to take them all to the SPCA -- I had
become an enabler, hiding damage when and however I
could. Finally I tried the Top Zat post -- at first
I thought it was too pricey and almost didn't do it (silly in
hindsight given I spent hundreds of dollars in $30 posts that
they haven't gone near). Now everyone loves the post.
They climb it and scratch and scratch and scratch. I
have a catnip spray that I use every once in awhile on it and
they go nuts! I never thought I could get them to ever
be interested in a scratching post. This is the greatest
cat product ever!

Thanks. The
order arrived today and my cats are already fighting over whose
turn it is to use the posts! I've never seen them take to
ANYTHING like they have already taken to these posts, and within
only minutes after they were assembled.

The topcat post came
this week -- the kitties love it! They are sooo cute
playing on it. They fight for 'top cat' position and then
the one that wins likes to sit on the very top. It's
hilarious! And they love the little sparkly ball toy also
-- they play with it like it's a mouse and one will grab it and
carry it around until the other one grabs it away -- this goes
on and on! I promise to send you pictures of them --
hopefully I'll have time this weekend to take some good shots.
They're about 3 months old and still quite small -- amazing how
well they can climb the post and just sit on the top and watch
the rest of the worldfrom there (until the other one decides to
vie for 'top cat' again!!). It'll be very interesting to
see how they deal with that as they get bigger!

when it arrived. I've had 2 of your posts for a year and a
half now and I wanted to let everyone know that my three cats
STILL use them with as much enthusiasm as when we first got

My cats send a
wonderful round of applause for their new scratching post.
They feel that they've never had a better post ever! I did
see the suggestion to not set up the new post for a day, but the
cat disagreed and wanted it set up NOW and "helped"
put it together. Since then, one has always been
scratching or laying on the post. They also say thanks for
the very fun toy and lovely smelling box to sniff and play in.
I thank you also, they are now not scratching the box springs :)

Our newly adopted Siamese cat,
"Bucky Boy", went straight for your wonderful sisal
cat scratching pole, and never looked at the other furniture.
He especially loves that little fuzzy sparkly ball you sent as
an enticement -- it is his very favorite toy! He prefers
it to all the fancy, expensive toys -- it & plastic bags --
often in combination. He bats it across the room, charges
after it, captures it, then carries it back to his lair in his
mouth & wrassles with it, before emerging
again, using it for a hockey puck". Thanks for a great

have had to reupholster the chairs!

I wanted to let you know that I
discovered your product a few years ago when I was doing an
appraisal at a womans house. She told me how great the
product was, and I liked the fact that it was tall enough for
them to stretch. I hesitated ordering one because the
price was up there, but I did. I am so happy that I did!
I also realized that it is no more expensive than the tall
carpet covered ones at the pet stores - but the real
difference is that the replacement posts are so cost
effective! All of my cats love them, and even the
kittens I foster for a local shelter enjoy using them as a
springboard. I tell everyone I come in contact with

McGyv'er goes to the scratching post
several times a day and has a great, long stretch and then a few
scratches. He's become so fond of it, he lies at the
bottom, as if he's staking claim (and I have no other cats).
A couple of times, he's even jumped it and pulled himself the
top to see what's up there!
That little red sparkly toy you sent is his very favorite - he's
crazy about it. When it's lost, I have to go crawling
around looking under and behind all the furniture - he's really
bereft without it! That was such a nice touch, including
the toy - you certainly know what cats like.

yesterday (2/8/07). Before I could get them out of the
box Fernando (part Bobcat) was IN the box, holding on with all
his might! They like the extra height to the posts

Your scratching post is wonderful.
We have had problems for years getting our cats to use a
scratching post instead of our couch and easy chair. We adopted
a new cat in October, and in an attempt to start out fresh, we
ordered your post. It arrived last week, and from the minute we

The scratching
post arrived today and is the biggest hit I could ever have

around six months ago has literally saved my carpeted stairs.
I placed it under the stairs and all of our indoor cats are
constantly using it (Not the stairs). The new post is
going upstairs, as we have one cat (Rusty) who will not venture
downstairs at all. I know he will use the new post and I
also know that the other cats will come upstairs just to use the
new post. We have three cat trees, one of which is 7 feet
tall and hollow. The cats use them somewhat, more for

"I purchased a
very expensive cat condo with sisal scratching strips, as well
as several less elaborate scratching "cones" and
stands before I found your sisal scratcher and flat pad online.
I was willing to spend the money because I had just invested in
an entire living room full of upholstered furniture, and was
trying to save it from the fate of one of the sofas I moved out
of there. The cats had scratched one edge of that sofa right
down to the wood.
These scratchers have completely solved the problem. However it
is that you embed the catnip scent, it truly works (a
"tea" solution?)! The tentative claw pricks that
started to appear on the new furniture have stopped--and I was
spraying it with repellant, booby-trapping it with
citrus-scented stuff the cats don't like and all kinds of crazy
things. That kept them (and us) off of the furniture, but it
didn't keep the claws away until your products arrived. I could
hardly get the cats (I have 4!) out of the box!
Now I don't rush to the living room in panic when I hear claws
tearing; I know they are on the post or on the flat sisal
scratcher on the floor. I have been completely relieved of worry
after 25 years of cat ownership.

it Wednesday morning! I am very pleased with the fast
shipping and SO impressed with the quality and sturdiness
of this scratching post. Our newly adopted male cat had
taken to scratching on our french doors and also on our deck
post outside. He wouldn't use the door scratcher we
bought and the posts I found in the pet stores were very
flimsy - he is a big boy! Minutes after we set-up the

I have four indoor cats -- one of which is, or I should say
was -- a terror on the furniture and bar stools. Since
the post arrived, Grady, the destroyer, has eased off the
furniture and is eagerly attacking the post. Now, all of
the cats fight over it but they each eventually get their
turn. They love it. I never thought they would
take to the post like that. I have had cat scratching
posts in the past but nothing compares to your product.

how well this post works, you wouldn't believe me. I have three

"hell on claws". We don't believe in de-clawing (if
God didn't want cats to have claws, he'd have made them

Covering the furniture thwarted the scratching, trimming her
claws reduced the damage but she still had the urge to scratch
and no outlet for that and I really felt like I was being a
bad mommy. I just saw her stretch up and sink her claws
into it not ten minutes ago and really had to share the
happiness!!! I also want to compliment your company on
the prompt handling of my order (I had a tracking number the
same day and received the post two days after ordering it).

post arrived, as promised, on Monday, and before it was even
out of the box, Lenin (who was taken off the streets as a semi feral
kitten) was already sniffing and rubbing himself on the
plastic bag the post came wrapped in. Also as promised, it was
very easily put together. I am impressed with how handsome a
thing it is, as well as how quickly Lenin took to literally wrapping
himself around it, something he never did with the old one
(which made its way, quickly, into the garbage). It took Leo a
few hours to get over the shock of the new but he, too, by the
end of the day, was stretching himself out to full length,
rubbing his face along the top edge of the post. I swear I saw
rapture in their eyes. I can even see the possibility of
needing another one so that each fellow can have his own. I am

using a woven sisal scratching post from topcatproducts.com. It
is the best post I've found. All the 'kids' love it and a couple
like to sit on top. A foster in my rescue group, www.rescuinganimalsinneed.org
, put one in the foster room and they all started using it
immediately. All the foster cats and kittens in my house also go
to it right away. I like the version with the sisal base as it
gives them more area to scratch on. The woven sisal doesn't have
the rope 'strings' like the regular sisal posts."

a twelve-year old stray who has shown no interest in playing at
all. Your flat scratcher arrived today, and he's been
playing on it ever since! He rubs it, rolls on it,
scratches it, and pounces on imaginary prey all around it!
I gave him a shoelace when I saw his antics, and he grabbed it
and started playing on the scratcher as you can see in the

love it, I love it! #1 it's tall unlike so many others
and it's obvious that cats want to stretch, not scrunch
down. #2 it's sisal, not carpet (why would one want
to encourage cats to scratch on a carpet post when you
don't want them to scratch on carpet on the
floor???? - plus it doesn't hold up to their claws). After
throwing 2 out (other brands) I decided to not scrimp and
went for the sisal base and I'm so happy I did. The
cat nip is a nice touch too, they went nuts as soon as it

I also do not want to have my furniture clawed, and he was
starting to claw our wicker chairs. Since I got your post,
both he and my 1-year old cat have been scratching it and

have to tell you how GREAT this new scratching post is!
All my cats love it, even the one who is declawed (she was
already declawed when we got her). We have a big,
neutered male who loves to scratch on the wood support
of a shelving unit in our garage. I measured how far up
he reached when he was using that wooden leg and that was
approx. the length of your scratching post. That's part
of the reason why I ordered it - it could have even been a bit
taller, if you have in mind to make any additions to your
product. He made the transfer from our old scratching
post to the new post right away; no waiting for him!
